The Automotive Industry Institute PIMOT® was found by Polish Council of Ministers in 1972, as the automotive industry Research and Development unit.

PIMOT`s lines of activity cover scientific, R&D works and automotive products testing services. Institute is a separate and independent unit. It makes an unquestionable basic for impartiality of its opinion and test result obtained.

PIMOT as participator of 7th Framework Programme Project of the UE

The Automotive Industry Institute PIMOT is a participator of 7th Framework Programme Project of the UE called OPTIBODY “Optimized Structural components and add-ons to improve passive safety in new Electric Light Trucks and Vans (ELTVs)”.

This Project began last April and will last for three years. This Project researches on a new concept of modular structural architecture for electric light trucks or vans (ELTV’s) focusing on the improvement of passive safety.
These new architectures will be modular, what represents a market opportunity not only for large vehicle manufacturers, but also for SMEs and component manufacturers in order to allow them to offer their own proposals to Light Trucks and Vans assemblers.
 
In this Project participate 10 organizations from whole Europe (i.a. from Italy, Spain), from Poland there are three organizations: PIMOT, AMZ Kutno i BELLA.
 
This Project contemplates the creation of High Level Advisory Board formed by people linked to National European Public Institutions, who can value and express their opinion about the quality of the Project achievements, advise the partners and help with the dissemination of Project results.
