Approval of a vehicle

Łukasiewicz Research Network – Automotive Industry Institute, authorised by Approval Authority in Poland (as the technical service), offers the tests and conformity production control, required in approval vehicle procedure (WE or Small Series).

Our scope of activity concerns the vehicle categories: M, N, O, T, R and L.

Invite to cooperation the manufacturers of incomplete vehicles, complete and completed, including special vehicles (eg ambulance)

Dear manufacturer,

The vehicle type-approval procedure includes the preparation of extensive and thorough documentation, carrying out of many tests, and checking of the conformity of production.

We have over 30-year experience in performing the approval procedure, with continually extending the package of testing services provided. No matter if you represent an entity with an established position in the market or you are taking the first steps in starting vehicle production, we will do our best for you to get the test results necessary for obtaining the approval certificate you apply for.

A change in the approval procedure:

We would like to inform that for the M, N, and O category vehicles, Regulation (EU) 2018/858 of the European Parliament and of the Council has been obligatorily put into force since 1st September 2020. Thus, Directive 2007/47/EC has become definitely ineffective, whether the manufacturer applies for a type approval or EU-type approval certificate or for an extension of the existing type-approval certificate of conformity with the Directive. The previous name of the EC-type procedure has been replaced with the EU-type procedure.

In consequence of the above change, new standard forms of the information document and of the certificate of conformity (COC) are used in the approval procedure. The approval requirements for individual vehicle categories have currently been specified in Annex II (a single annex), where requirements for special vehicles have additionally been provided. In Annex V to the Regulation, new higher quantitative annual limits for small series have been laid down. The Regulation is more rigorous as regards surveillance. The approval certificates granted will no longer be valid for an indefinite period.

The change in the framework act will mean further changes in the type-approval procedure, only generally outlined so far; we will inform about them as they become effective.

For a link to the Regulation, see below.

In consideration of the practical use of the new Regulation, we also inform that administrative requirements have been specified in Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/863.

The framework act has introduced national individual approvals applicable to the M, N, and O category vehicles.

To adapt to the change mentioned above, the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Automotive Industry Institute (Ł-PIMOT) has updated its scope of accreditation and has obtained a new authorization granted by Director of the Technical Inspectorate for Transport (TDT).
