The scope of the work done by this Laboratory includes:

  • Testing of physico-mechanical and ageing properties of plastics, rubber, friction materials, fabrics and other non-metallic materials and metallic materials for conformity with the applicable requirements of PN, ISO, ASTM, DIN, FIAT Product Specifications, and other standards,
  • Examining of structural and strength characteristics of metallic materials,
  • Testing of physical and physico-mechanical properties of paint and metallic protective coatings,
  • Testing of the resistance of protective coatings and structural materials to the impact of  salt spray and/or temperature variations.

Basic test equipment of the Laboratory:

  • Strength testing machines with load capacity ranges of up to 100 kN (Instron),
  • Hardness testing machines: Rockwell, Brinell i Vickers, IRHD, Shore'A, Shore’D  ,
  • Impact testing machines,
  • Metallographic microscope,
  • Climatic chambers with a temperature range from - 70º C to + 150º C and heat-impact chambers with a temperature range of up to + 700º C,
  • Salt spray test chambers,
  • Combustibility testing chamber, radiation lamp, and frame for vertical burning of textiles in accordance with UN ECE Regulation No. 118 Annexes VI, VII, VIII, IX, PN-ISO 3795: 1996 and EU Directive No. 95/28/EC Annexes IV, V, VI,
  • Dust measuring device,
  • Thermal imaging camera.

The Laboratory carries out type-approval tests of automotive vehicles and vehicle parts for conformity with the following UN-ECE Regulations:

  • UN ECE Regulation No. 118 – „Uniform technical prescriptions concerning the burning behaviour of materials used in the interior construction of certain categories of motor vehicles”
  • UN ECE Regulation No. 34 “Uniform provisions concerning the approval of vehicles with regard to the prevention of fire risks.”
  • Commission Regulation (EU) No. 1009/2010 of 9 November 2010 concerning type-approval requirements for wheel guards of certain motor vehicles and implementing Regulation (EC) No 661/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning type-approval requirements for the general safety of motor vehicles, their trailers and systems, components and separate technical units intended therefor.

Accreditation Certificate No. AB 082 issued by the Polish Centre for Accreditation includes:

  • Testing of non-metallic materials used in automotive vehicles (rubber, plastics, friction linings, fabrics, etc.),
  • Testing of metallic materials and products and protective coatings,
  • Testing oftubes, hosesof rubber andplastics,
  • Testing of rubbercovers and o-rings to brake systems and clutches,
  • Testing of tubes and wires made of polyamide 11 or 12 to the brake pneumatic systems,
  • Testing of fuel tanks,
  • Testing of metal and flexible hoses of hydraulic braking systems,
  • Testing of filters andfilter cartridges of  air filters, motor oil, fuel, diesel fuel.

The Laboratory guarantees:

  • The tests mentioned above to be carried out by excellent specialists,
  • Professional test stands,
  • Short test completion periods.
