The Laboratory carries out static and dynamic simulation tests regarding the performance and endurance of:

  • Parts (axle shafts, torsion elements):
    • Shock absorbers;
    • Leaf and air suspension springs;
    • Vehicle coupling devices;
  • Component assemblies
    • Vehicle suspension systems;
    • Cabins;
    • Load-bearing structures (frames);
    • Vehicle bodies;
  • Complete vehicles, with or without wheels.

Moreover, the Laboratory offers the following services:

  • Vibration testing of various devices, inclusive of those submitted from outside of the automotive industry (e.g. high voltage switching equipment);
  • Material specimen testing, with simulation tests carried out in cooperation with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow;
  • On-the-job training for foreign students in cooperation with the IAESTE Local Committee of students of the Warsaw University of Technology;
  • Rig testing of power transmission units (driving axles, gearboxes) of automotive vehicles, tractors, construction and road-making equipment, agricultural machinery, and other special equipment;
  • Rig testing of disc-type road wheels;
  • Working-out of product testing methods;
  • Working-out, evaluation, and verifying of standards and technical specifications for vehicle parts and component assemblies;
  • Designing and making of test stands.

The Laboratory guarantees:

  • The tests mentioned above to be carried out by experienced engineering personnel (having been cooperating for many years with manufacturers of world renown);
  • Professional test stands;
  • Modern monitoring and measuring equipment;
  • Short test duration periods (work in a three‑shift system).

Basic research equipment of the Laboratory:

  • MTS electro-hydraulic test equipment that ensures precise reproducing of any preset input loads, including random inputs;
  • Software to generate input signals based on load histories recorded during actual operation of the systems under tests;
  • Equipment for digital recording of measured signals, with specialistic signal processing software.

Accreditation Certificate No. AB 082 (PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005) issued by the Polish Centre for Accreditation and covering:

  • Testing of automotive towing attachments, ball-type coupling devices, rubber-metal elements, air suspension springs, mechanical and hydraulic jacks;
  • Test jobs in the field of power transmission systems and road wheels.

The Laboratory has been authorised by the Ministry of Transport, Construction, and Maritime Economy to carry out type-approval tests for conformity with the following:

  • UN ECE Regulation No. 55 “Uniform provisions concerning the approval of mechanical coupling components of combinations of vehicles”;
  • UN ECE Regulation No. 102 “Uniform provisions concerning the approval of:
    • A close-coupling device (CCD)
    • Vehicles with regard to the fitting of an approved type of CCD
  • UN ECE Regulation No. 124 “Uniform provisions concerning the approval of wheels for passenger cars and their trailers”;
  • EU Directive 94/20/EC relating to the mechanical coupling devices of motor vehicles and their trailers and their attachment to those vehicles;
  • Regulation of the European Commission (EC) No. 1005/2010 concerning type-approval requirements for motor vehicle towing devices and implementing Regulation (EC) No. 661/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning type-approval requirements for the general safety of motor vehicles, their trailers and systems, components and separate technical units intended therefor;
  • EU Directive 97/24/EC on certain components and characteristics of two or three-wheel motor vehicles;
  • EU Directive 2009/144/EC on certain components and characteristics of wheeled agricultural or forestry tractors.
